Institutional Functions

China Foundation for Rural Development (formerly China Foundation for Poverty Alleviation) is a national public welfare organization registered with the Ministry of Civil Affairs and supervised by the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs. Its primary functions focus on the field of rural revitalization, with specific responsibilities including:

Business Scope

The foundation operates across five key areas: industrial development, talent development, rural construction, social programs, and social mobilization. Through optimizing and upgrading existing projects (such as the Bona Villa Project and New Farmer Cooperative Director Training Program) and innovatively implementing new initiatives (such as agricultural machinery socialized services and the Rural Craftsman Empowerment Program), the foundation supports sustainable development in less-developed regions and among low-income populations.

Project Management

  • Strategic Planning: The Board of Directors reviews project strategies and adjusts directions, such as launching the "Smart Agricultural Machinery Project" in 2025 to support agricultural machinery applications.

  • Fund Utilization: Strict adherence to regulations including the Charity Law, ensuring funds are allocated to rural revitalization-related sectors.

Organizational Structure

The foundation has established a Planning and Finance Department responsible for financial budgeting and final accounts, asset management, and financial supervision, with branch organizations integrated under unified management.

Cooperation and Advocacy

The foundation participates in international poverty reduction cooperation projects (including those in Belt and Road Initiative countries) and promotes social participation demonstration in domestic rural revitalization public welfare projects.
