Bona Villa Project

CFRD launched the Bona Villa Program in 2013 to improve the backward development of villages in underdeveloped areas. In villages eligible for program implementation, overall plans and designs were created to renovate traditional villages and houses, and to protect and improve the ecological environment of each village and the surrounding areas. Rural tourism served as a tool for the integration of primary, secondary, and tertiary industries. Entrepreneurial individuals were trained, and young people were encouraged to return to their hometown for employment and entrepreneurship. Democratic consultations were fostered by utilising the Party Committee and the Villagers' Committee, and a profit distribution mechanism was developed that connected members and shared benefits through cooperatives. Also, award-point management was implemented to carry out rural civilisation construction. The ultimate goal was to build those villages into comprehensive demonstration villages for rural revitalisation, with strong livelihood, beautiful ecology, flourishing culture, flexible mechanisms, and rich people.
