New Tea Fund
On August 8, 2023, CFRD partnered with nine leading tea beverage brands—Chabaidao, Ancient Tea, Mixue Ice Cream & Tea, Shuyi Tealicious, Auntea Jenny, Heytea, Yihetang, Modern China Tea Shop, and SWEET7—to establish the "New Tea Fund". The initiative aims to support rural revitalisation and industrial poverty alleviation in underdeveloped regions by leveraging the collective strengths of the new tea drink industry, while also addressing educational support and disaster relief. In December of the same year, the tea brand "Tianlala" joined the fund.
In 2024, the New Tea Fund supported various agricultural industrial aid projects, including:
- Tiandong Mango in Guangxi
- Mengdingshan Green Tea in Sichuan
- Meitan Black Tea in Guizhou
The fund also launched the **Rural Craftsmanship Training Program** to enhance tea-making skills across four major tea-producing provinces: Sichuan, Guizhou, Yunnan, and Fujian. Additionally, it supported the establishment of 10 rural science and technology demonstration bases for tea and fruit production in 10 counties across 6 provinces, enabling university students to engage directly in field work and contribute to rural development.
The fund further facilitated emergency flood relief in southern China, providing essential supplies to 2,350 affected households in Chongyang County (Hubei) and Pingjiang County (Hunan). It also supported post-earthquake reconstruction in Jishishan through multiple projects, such as:
- Child Companion Paradise Program
- Female Employment Initiative
- Agricultural Machinery Socialised Service Program
Since its establishment, the 10 partner tea brands have worked closely with CFRD under the shared vision of "doing public welfare together". Guided by the principle of "upward development of tea drinks, and forward movement of the industry", the fund remains committed to translating charitable ideals into tangible actions. Moving forward, the initiative will continue to explore how the industry’s advantages can further contribute to rural revitalisation and generate greater social impact.
